Kenya New Tourism Protocols
The Ministry of Tourism in Kenya has issued a tourism protocol and regulations as per how the Tourism Industry should practice.
Tourism Industry is known to be a high risk of social interactions, from Transport, Accommodation, and how tourists will be serving meals.
The Protocols focusses mostly on how the following:-
- Number of Pax in a Tour Vehicle
- Fumigation and Sanitisation of Tour Vehicles
- Provision of Masks and Sanitisers
- Accommodation to practice strict social distance among many others
These come up after the Ministry of Transport laid out their protocols on how flights should handle passengers and practice the regulations at JKIA and while on a flight with Kenya Airways. (Read here on flight protocols)
Ministry of Tourism is optimistic to take advantage of the Peak season that starts in June to revamp its activities.
Kenyan Government gave soft loans of close to $70 Million to The Tourism Ministry that will see that tourism players are helped to resume their operations. Among the beneficiaries are the Kenya Wildlife Service, Hotels, Conservancies, Community Tourism Projects.
The Ministry is looking at taking advance of the East African and domestic tourists, to see to it that there are activities and bookings done within the country.
