Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) today confirmed the death of 6 lions who were killed by unknown people in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
A sad cloud engulfed the Tourism industry in Uganda and Wildlife enthusiasts across, for the loss of such a big number of lions that is put under the risk category.
Below is a statement that the Authority had released for clarification and condemning the heinous act that was seen. They state that the could be caused by poisoning which resulted in the death of 8 vultures too around the Isasha sector of the park.
UWA has sent a team of investigators to thoroughly look into the cause of the death of the lions, collaborating with police from Kanugu District.
This comes after the government of Uganda extended their discounted rates for gorilla and chimps tracking in the major parks, Bwindi Impenetrable Park.
